AZF to launch fifth edition of Aspire Jam basketball tournament later this month

The fifth edition of the Aspire Jam street basketball tournament will be launched on March 26. The tournament is part of Aspire Zone Foundation’s (AZF) continuous efforts to promote a sporting culture among members of the local community and encouraging them to adopt healthy lifestyles. A total of 12 teams will participate in the tournament, with five players each aged 17 years and above. The teams will be competing for the title of the competition, which will take place at the Aspire Park parking area near the Aspire Zone Foundation headquarters on March 26, from 3pm to 7pm.Commenting on the tournament, AZF Events manager Abdullah al-Khater said, “We strive at Aspire Zone Foundation to give all members of the community the opportunity to partake in different forms of physical activity and encourage them to take up sports. The tournament represents a new opportunity to encourage young people to unleash their talents through a fun sporting activity, and contributes towards the Foundation’s efforts to promote healthy lifestyles among members of the local community.  The tournament makes up one part of a year-round programme of activity that we organise as part of our efforts of promoting fitness and health in Qatar.”To add further excitement to the day, the Lords of Gravity international group will be preforming an incredible mix of acrobatic and basketball moves that reflect strength, flexibility, and endurance.
