Inspection drive records 12 violations in Souq Al Haraj

An inspector issues a violation for a street vendor at Souq Al Haraj.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has conducted an inspection campaign at Souq Al Haraj in Najma Area,  where 12 commercial violations were spotted.The campaign aimed at ensuring the compliance of the outlets  with the stipulations of Law no 5 for 2015, regarding commercial/industrial outlets and similar public facilities, and street vendors. During the inspection, MEC inspectors spotted 12 different violations of practicing a commercial activity without a proper licence. Accordingly, the violations reports were issued for the outlets. The fine for such violation according to the law should not exceed QR10,000. The campaign is part of MEC efforts to control local markets and protect the rights of consumers.
