PM visits Arab World Institute in Paris
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday holding talks with President of Arab World Institute (AWI) Jack Lang in Paris.
QNA/ParisHE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday visited the Arab World Institute (AWI) in Paris. The Premier was welcomed upon arrival by AWI President Jack Lang and a number of senior officials. The Prime Minister and the AWI president reviewed aspects of bilateral co-operation, especially in the scientific and cultural spheres, and means to promote it. They also exchanged views on a host of topics of mutual interest. Touring the AWI, the Prime Minister was briefed on its different departments and the library which comprise rare books from the Arab World. He also toured the AWI museum which displays a collection of rare manuscripts and antiques from different Arab countries. The Prime Minister praised the AWI as one of the important centres for disseminating the Arab culture and civilisation and presenting them to the public in France, Europe and the world, through the large number of artistic, literary and intellectual events organised by the Institute. He expressed Qatar’s appreciation to the AWI mission. AWI was founded in 1980 by 18 Arab countries and France to research and disseminate information about the Arab world and its cultural and spiritual values. During the visit an official delegation accompanied the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
