DohaA Doha criminal court has ordered a Bangladeshi motorist to pay a fine of QR10,000 and pay blood money of QR200,000, for running over two cyclists, killing one and severely injuring the other, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.The motorist's driving licence was also withdrawn for three months for reckless driving. The blood money has to be paid to the legal heirs of the deceased in collaboration with insurance company. The convict was driving his vehicle when he saw two persons on a bicycle in front of him. Though he tried to warn them by flashing the headlights of the car and avert a collision, the cyclists ended up in front of the car. The motorist did not have enough time or space, though he slammed hard on the brakes, to avoid them. One of the victims died in the intensive care unit at the hospital and the other got severely injured, the daily added.
