Ooredoo customers at the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus launch in Qatar.

Hundreds of Ooredoo customers enjoyed a VIP experience during the weekend, as the telecom major distributed new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus phones as per pre-order. The event, held at the Intercontinental Doha, saw customers receiving their new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices within an average of three minutes upon request – making many of them the first people in Qatar to own an official, fully-ready device. “We wanted to deliver a full-VIP experience for our customers, so we provided exceptional online support for pre-registration and pre-ordering, and an enjoyable event for customers on launch night,” said Fatima Sultan al-Kuwari, director, public and community relations, Ooredoo. Customers who pre-ordered their devices and were unable to collect them on Saturday night can still pick up their new phones from the Ooredoo Shop on Airport Road. Customers who buy an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus from Ooredoo get a 15GB data card worth QR200 for free, while customers on Shahry Smart 250 and above can get unlimited data for 12 months. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus bring a powerful new dimension to iPhone’s revolutionary multi-touch interface with 3D Touch, which senses force to enable intuitive new ways to access features and interact with content. Because the new phones are 4G+ enabled, they work seamlessly on Ooredoo’s world-class Supernet network, giving customers access to superfast mobile data speeds and an exceptionally smooth browsing experience in Qatar. The new iPhones, which also offer Live Photos, 3D Touch, a 12-megapixel iSight camera, 5-megapixel FaceTime HD camera with Retina Flash, are powered by the Apple-designed A9 chip, the most advanced chip ever in a smartphone, delivering faster performance and great battery life. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus come in gold, silver, rose gold or space grey, and customers can choose between 16GB, 64GB or 128GB models. With demand high, and a significant number of pre-ordered phones already delivered, Ooredoo is in the process of bringing new stock to Qatar. The company will make an announcement when these are available for sale in Ooredoo shops.
