Trekkers and climbers make their way up a trail leading to the village of Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp deep in the Kumbhu region of the Sagamartha National Forest in north eastern Nepal, a few days before a 7.8-magnitude quake struck on April 25 killing more than 8,800 people across the Himalayan nation. The vast majority of guesthouses and trails on the popular Mount Everest trekking route emerged unscathed from Nepal’s devastating earthquake, said an assessment report.
