Indian mission to aid Fath Al Khair 2 voyage
The Indian embassy in Doha will offer some services to facilitate the historic voyage of Fath Al Khair 2 to India, which is set to be launched on September 20.Katara - the Cultural Village Foundation’s general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti has met with Indian ambassador Sanjiv Arora to discuss ways of co-operation in this regard. The journey will re-enact the pearl-diving voyages of ancestors.Dr al-Sulaiti said the first voyage of traditional dhow Fath Al Khair, which was honoured by the sponsorship of HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and launched by Katara two years ago during the third edition of the Traditional Dhow Festival, was highly successful and lasted for 27 days. The voyage included stops at a number of GCC seaports. Meanwhile, Arora expressed happiness that India was selected for the voyage of Fath Al Khair 2, saying this highlighted the strong historical ties between India and Qatar and their mutual friendship
