Qatar Duty Free (QDF) has announced the opening of the first Samsung Experience Store (SES) in the Middle East at Hamad International Airport (HIA). The “high-tech experiential hub”, which is operated by QDF, allows guests to experience the latest innovations from Samsung and make use of the exclusive customer service desk for training and education about Samsung products, software upgrades, the resolution of application issues and any other technical problems experienced by passengers travelling through the airport, according to a statement. Keith Hunter, senior vice-president of QDF, said: “The opening of the new Samsung Experience Store at Hamad International Airport is an exciting development for Qatar Duty Free. This is an original and dynamic concept that we are proud to introduce to our customers shopping at the airport. “This innovative store will appeal to those who wish to experience world-class technology in a highly interactive retail environment. We are attracting the most prestigious brand names to our duty-free offering at HIA and are delighted to introduce the Samsung Experience Store, which offers the best in world-class technology to customers in an impressive, highly interactive retail space.”Hayssam Yassine, head of IT and mobility sales group at Samsung Gulf Electronics, added: “We are very pleased that Hamad International Airport will be the first international airport to house a Samsung Experience Store. The new location at HIA will give consumers the same exciting and attentive in-store experience offered by our other SES stores around the world.”
