IIEE national president attends IIEE-SQC Toastmasters meeting

The national president of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE) Sheila C Cabaraban attended the 75th IIEE State of Qatar Chapter (SQC) Toastmasters (TM) club meeting at Radisson Blu Hotel in Doha recently. This month commemorates the fifth anniversary of the club since it was chartered in 2010 and has met the current-term eligibility requirements to receive a Distinguished Toastmasters Club Award from Toastmasters International Headquarters, USA.Cabaraban met the Area 44 Governor, Melvin Buthello who said that the club’s quality is demonstrated by the fact that three guests applied for its membership in the same evening. Cabaraban participated in the table topics session, a session in every Toastmasters meeting where a guest or a member is asked to speak extemporaneously on a specific subject or question read by the table topics  master. At the end of the meeting, Cabaraban said she was impressed by the level and organisation of the meeting. “I’m thinking to recommend building a Toastmasters club for IIEE members in the Philippines.”At the meeting, the club also recognised member who placed third in the Table Topics Speech Contest in the Division E Toastmasters Annual Conference held earlier in May. Club President Edgardo Estebal, Area 44 Governor Melvin Buthello and Cabaraban awarded the Certificate of Recognition to Edgar Santos.
