QNA /MilanQatar’s transportation sector is growing rapidly at all levels, HE the Minister of Transport Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti said, adding and the government and service providers are striving to deal with future challenges in transport, sustainability and the preservation of the environment. They are also working to make use of modern technology in the field of transportation, the Minister said while delivering a speech at the opening of the ongoing the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) World Congress in the Italian city of Milan. HE al-Sulaiti presided over Qatar’s delegation at the event which will conclude tomorrow. The Minister explained that the Ministry of Transport takes advantage of the expertise of the UITP, which has 92 member-states and 3,200 members. During the congress, the State of Qatar, represented by HE the Transport Minister Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti, was re-elected head of the Middle East and North Africa UITP. Jordanian Transport Minister Dr Lina Shabib and Egyptian Transport Minister Hani Dahi were elected as his deputies. Qatar’s delegation includes a number of senior officials from Mowasalat, Qatar Rail, and Ministry of Transport. They showcased Qatar’s transport sector in the international arena at the three-day 61st UITP World Congress and Exhibition in Milan.
