By Sports Reporter/Doha Elmurat Tasmuradov of Uzbekistan beat Yuh Won Choi of North Korean to win gold in the Greco-Roman 59kg category at the Asian Wrestling Championships at Aspire yesterday.Tasmuradov, a 2014 world bronze medallist, jumped out to a 2-0 lead over 2013 world champion Yuh, before the Uzbek closed out the bout 9-4.In the 71kg, Iran’s Ramin Taherisartang overcame Ruslan Tsarev to win his first Asian Championship gold with the 2-2 win via criteria. The weight class is considered non-Olympic and will not be contested at Rio 2016.Uzbekistan earned their second gold of the night, when Rustam Assakalov took a tightly contested 4-4 match via criteria over Nursultan Tursynov of KazakhstanWomen’s wrestling concluded yesterday with the 75kg finals, where Hiroe Suzuki of Japan held off the late attacks by Mongolia’s Odonchimeg Badrakh to secure a 3-1 victory and her second Asian championship title.Japan won the women’s team title with 74 points.
