Qatargas wins CIPS honour on procurement practice

The Qatargas Supply Department has been awarded the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Standard Certification in a special ceremony held yesterday at the Qatargas head office here. CIPS corporate certification is an independent, procurement-specific process to assess the efficiency of procurement teams working towards organisational goals. For decades, CIPS has been assessing organisations and corporates in a variety of sectors and all over the world against an acclaimed global standard. Qatargas demonstrated “strong control and transparency” achieved through the defined policies and procedures, as well as overall governance provided by three tender committees. “Strong strategic direction” contributed to increased value across the supply chain, and reduced lead times in the procurement cycle, which increased cost effectiveness and secured advantageous market conditions.“We are honoured to receive this prestigious recognition as evidence of the continued efforts to promote world-class standards and integrate best practices into its business performance, a Qatargas statement said. “Qatargas’ Supply Department has set another milestone.
