Nepalese devotees perform ritual bathing at a traditional bathing site at Balaju in Kathmandu yesterday, to mark the Lhuti Purnima Festival. Lhuti Purnima is considered amongst Nepalese Hindus to be one of the most auspicious days for ritual bathing at the site, holding the belief that doing so offers protection from diseases such as cholera and smallpox.
