Nominee registration for CMC poll: submission of complaints ends today

The phase for submitting complaints and protests regarding the registration of nominees for the upcoming Central Municipal Council (CMC) election concludes today. This was announced by Brigadier Abdulrahman al-Malki, assistant director-general at the General Directorate of Information Systems at the Ministry of Interior, who is the head of the technical committee for the election.Any citizen who submitted a nomination application and did not find his/her name on the preliminary candidates’ list, declared on March 17, has the right to submit a petition to the chairman of the election committee. Similarly, any voter has the right to protest the nomination of a candidate in his respective constituency. The final list of the nominees is to be declared on April 8 for the election scheduled to take place on May 13.
