Under the patronage of HE the Minister of Finance Ali Sharif al-Emadi, Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) has held the graduation ceremony for its Kawader programme in the presence of HE the Minister of Administrative Development Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi and HE the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Dr Abdullah bin Saleh Mubarak al-Khulaifi. The programme, instituted by the QFBA in partnership with the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority in May 2013, enables students to acquire skills and build competencies in cross-functional areas in the financial sector. This year, Kawader tied up with some of the most prominent schools in Doha. Students from Qatar University, Stenden University, Georgetown University and Carnegie Mellon University successfully completed the learning journey. The programme featured 21 young Qataris eager to take on leadership roles in the country’s financial services sector.During the ceremony, HE al-Nuaimi congratulated the students on their accomplishment and encouraged QFBA to continue developing innovative programmes like Kawader for Qatari nationals to assist in developing Qatar’s human capital, answering the needs of the country’s rapidly growing financial sector.“We extend well-deserved congratulations to the ambitious students who have completed the Kawader programme for the year 2014-2015. The State of Qatar will soon feature great professionals in the growing sector of finance who already encourage future generations to join,” HE Dr al-Nuaimi said during the ceremony. “This significant success is a testament to the strength of QFBA’s world-class programme and the integral role it plays in developing human capital in alignment with the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030.”“We congratulate every graduate on the completion of the Kawader programme. However, this journey has just commenced, so we ask everyone to get ready for the career excursion and work towards excellence,” said Dr Abdulaziz al-Horr, CEO of QFBA. “Every element of Kawader’s curricular modules is designed to develop and inspire advanced thinking and creative actions. Through such initiatives, QFBA affirms its local and regional position as an incubator of leadership and talent in the financial sector.” The Kawader programme is an innovative learning initiative by the QFC Authority and QFBA. The programme endeavours to equip participants with internationally recognised professional certifications along with enhanced personal development skills, which will help drive their growth in the industry, motivating them to build a career path in the financial sector, assisting them in choosing their future area of expertise, providing potential leaders with a world-class learning experience, making them highly-sought-after entrants to the financial market and bridging the gap between the industrial and academic world.
