The logistics committee at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and Manateq (Economic Zones Company) has signed contract for work for the first logistics zone in Jerri Al Samr, Umm Salal.The zone will have 21 plots of land for investment across various storage projects.The overall cost of the infrastructure work amounts to QR133.205mn and it is expected to be completed within 22 months.The contract was signed by Hamad bin Ali al-Mannai, head of the logistics committee; Fahd Rashid al-Kaabi, CEO of Manateq; and Ramez al-Khayyat, managing director of UrbaCon Trading and Contracting, the company that won the contract.As reported by Gulf Times, the logistics committee recently announced that plots of land in the Jerri Al Samr logistics project were now open for investors’ applications.The area will have comprehensive infrastructure with easy access to key trade locations in the country.
