Qatar to attend 46th session of UN Statistical Commission

Qatar will participate in the 46th session of the Statistical Commission scheduled to be held at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, from 3 to 6 March. The Qatar’s delegation is headed by HE the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) Saleh Mohamed Salem al-Nabit. The minister will hold several important meetings with representatives of international and regional organisations to discuss means of enhancing co-operation, and exchange of experiences in the development of official statistics systems in the country. He will also hold a meeting with representatives of “Partnership in Statistics for Development in the 21st Century (PARIS21)” as the Minister Saleh is member of its Executive Committee. He will hold several meetings with representatives of the GCC Statistical Centre, International Monetary Fund , The United Nations Statistics Division, and the World Bank, The session’s agenda includes important issues that will pave the way for declaration of the UN Post-2015 Development Agenda, which represents a new road map for the sustainable development of the countries of the world.
