HMC to take part in Cairo health meeting

Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will participate in the 15th annual congress of the Arab Hospitals Federation (MedHealth) in Cairo.The two-day congress starting tomorrow will be held at Marriott Hotel Cairo. The theme of the conference is ‘Reshaping the Arab Healthcare Sector’. It will be held under the aegis of the Arab League.The Arab Health Ministers Council’s Executive Board meeting will take place simultaneously. The congress will feature panel and roundtable discussions with a focus on the latest advancements in the Arab healthcare sector. Participants include the leadership, hospital managers and executive directors of healthcare organisations. The aims of the MedHealth 2015 include advancing participants’ knowledge of the latest advancements in the field of global healthcare. Delegates will also exchange innovative ideas and expertise with renowned experts in the healthcare field.An exhibition featuring the latest innovations in medication, medical equipment and instruments will be showcased alongside the congress. Various Arab and international hospitals, clinics and associations, specialised medical centres, medical facilitators, ICT companies and pharmaceutical, medical equipment, quality consulting and health insurance companies will showcase their  products and services at the exhibition. Mohamad Mubarak al-Noimi, chief of communication and chief of staff for the managing director’s office at HMC said: “We are always keen to seize the opportunity to feature our great expertise in the field. We hope to receive updates about the latest developments and recent best practices in the field, and in turn translate and apply these developments into the clinical, innovative and developmental programmes being conducted at HMC year after year.”Al-Noimi recalled some of HMC’s recent achievements, which include the three newest hospitals - Heart, Al Wakra and Cuban - joining the five other hospitals, as well as the Ambulance Service and Home Healthcare Service, in being awarded Joint Commission International accreditation.Ali Abdulla al- Khater, executive director of the Corporate Communications Department, HMC and head of HMC’s delegation to the congress said: “Our participation in this annual congress of the Arab Hospitals Federation aims to reflect the significant healthcare boom witnessed by Qatar during the past few years, particularly in the public healthcare sector, where the total number of public hospitals has increased to eight - covering various districts and areas of the country.”
