Qatargas joins METS 2015 as ‘Platinum Sponsor’

HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada awards a certificate of recognition to Qatargas for joining METS 2015 as Platinum Sponsor.Qatargas is participating as a ‘Platinum Sponsor’ in the 3rd Middle East Turbomachinery Symposium (METS 2015), which concludes today at the Sheraton Doha Hotel, the company said in a statement.The biennial event, organised by the Turbomachinery Laboratory (Turbo Lab) of the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES), is being hosted by Qatar Petroleum (QP) and supported by the Texas A&M University at Qatar.Qatargas said the event offers an opportunity for industry leaders to share ideas, exchange technical knowledge, and discuss ongoing industry related issues.  “As a premier LNG company, Qatargas views its participation in the symposium as an opportunity to keep abreast of the latest technological advancements in the oil and gas industry,” the statement said.METS 2015 features a world-class educational forum for turbomachinery engineers through eight discussion groups, 10 tutorials, 12 lectures, and 18 case studies on various topics such as Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), wet gas, vibration, gas turbines, surge, and cavitation.  Technical sessions will also cover topics on maintenance, design, and troubleshooting as well as short case studies describing in-the-field problems and their real-world solutions. Qatargas engineers delivered two technical presentations as part of the case study sessions. The company also participated in three discussion groups during the conference, while a number of Qatargas engineers attended various sessions at the symposium.  As sponsors of the event, Qatargas also participated in the exhibition along with industry leading companies, which showcased the latest services and full-sized equipment.
