Draw held for Aspire Academy League 2014/15 finals on February 10

By Sports Reporter/DohaAspire Academy has launched the “Aspire Academy League 2014/15” for football clubs in Qatar and players of the age generations 2003 (U-12) and 2004 (U-11). Recently, the draw for the finals to be played on February 10 took place at the Academy.The League provides players of this age with competitive playing opportunities and enables them to showcase their potential.  Importantly, the “Aspire Academy League 2014/15” has the support and involvement of all 18 QFA clubs. The competition started in September 2014 with the best 6 teams of each age group qualifying for the final tournament that will take place on National Sports Day, February 10.  In each generation the 6 clubs will play in a preliminary stage in groups of 3 and the teams that finish on top of their groups qualify for the final.“Starting the Aspire Academy League has been significant for us because it’s an important age in football development and giving the kids an extra opportunity for match playing time is something that we want to provide. In this format the young boys also learn that winning and losing is part of the game and moreover, players need to learn to deal with results. The final day at Aspire Academy will also provide another chance for club players to show their abilities in order to be selected for Aspire Feeder Groups” explains Ed Graper, Managing Football Coach of Aspire Academy’s Feeder Groups.The final festival of the “Aspire Academy League 2014/15” takes place on National Sports Day, February 10, between 9 and 11AM on the Aspire Outdoor Pitches 3 and 4.
