The Advisory Council held its weekly regular session yesterday chaired by HE the Speaker Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi. The council reviewed Decree Law No 13 of 2014 amending some provisions of Law No 7 of 2012 on educational coupons and decided to refer it to the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee for a report. The council also reviewed Decree Law No 19 of 2014 amending some provisions of Law No 22 of 1988 defining the boundaries of Al Shahaniyah town and decided to refer it to the Services and Public Utilities Committee for a report. The council discussed a report by the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee on a draft law amending some provisions of the Labour Law issued by Law No 14 of 2004 and decided to refer its recommendation to the Cabinet. Meanwhile, the Advisory Council’s Cultural and Information Committee also met yesterday. The committee elected Hadi Said al-Khayareen as acting rapporteur and pursued study of a draft law organising sport clubs. The meeting was attended by HE the Minister of Youth and Sports Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali, director of the Minister’s Office and director of the Sports Department at the Ministry Abdurrahman Muslim al-Dossari and director of Legal Affairs Department at the Ministry Mohamed Hajis al-Kaabi. The Minister explained the ministry’s views on the draft law and responded to related inquiries by the committee’s members. The Advisory Council’s Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee also met yesterday under its rapporteur Nasser Rashid Sraiya al-Kaabi. The committee studied Decree Law No 13 of 2014 amending some provisions of Law No 7 of 2012 on educational coupons and decided to file a report to the Advisory Council.
