HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud met US Vice-President Joe Biden. The meeting took place on the sideline of the inauguration ceremony of Brazil President Dilma Rousseff. During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues of mutual interest.
Earlier on Thursday the Deputy Prime Minister participated in the inauguration ceremony of President Rousseff at the presidential palace in Brasilia.
The ceremony was attended by several heads of state and governments and senior officials and personalities.
Representing Qatar in the inauguration ceremony, HE al-Mahmoud conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to President Rousseff as well as his wishes of further progress and prosperity to the relations between the two countries.
President Rousseff reciprocated the Emir greetings and thanked him Qatar’s participation in the inauguration ceremony.
The event was attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to Brazil Mohamed Ahmed al-Hayki, as well.
President Rousseff was elected for a second term in office last October.
