Rodrigo Tabata was presented with the QSL’s October player of the month award at Al Sadd stadium yesterday.
The Al Sadd star scored three goals last month and had five assists.
At 33, the diminutive Brazilian has an incredible level of fitness with a strong high intensity indicator average of 1,208 metres. In the month of October, on average, he sprinted 242 metres and only needed a recovery time of 31 seconds. His average recovery time is an incredible 7 seconds less than the QSL average of 38 seconds.
The playmaker also has an on average total performance rating of 92.4.
Tabata plays as the second striker and as such contributes with a lot of passes, 55.2 on average. This is partly to do with his link-up play with midfield and also in quick one-two exchanges in and around the penalty area.
His penalty area entries show that he sent a high number of passes, crosses and through-balls (8) into the box compared to the QSL average of 3.
With five rounds of QSL action in the month of October, the Wolves forward has proven to be a great acquisition despite his age and looks set to continue to be a crucial player as Sadd competes for the QSL Shield this season.
His boundless energy, great vision, deadly set pieces and clinical finishing make him an obvious choice for the monthly award.
The Player of the Month award recognises the best Qatar Stars League player each month of the season. The recipient is chosen by the Competition and Football Development department according to statistical benchmarks set by the department using Prozone, their sole statistical partner.
Meanwhile, Al Sadd coach Hussein Amotta walked away with the Coach of the Month award. In the month of October the Moroccan tactician oversaw an incredible run of games that put them top of the QSL table.
During a challenging QSL fixture schedule, Amotta’s men played five rounds in just one month. The QSL is headed for a long break to make way for the Gulf Cup later this month.
