Evening Standard/LondonA murder investigation has been launched after a woman was shot at a house near Holloway Road.Officers on patrol in the area were alerted to a woman shot around 09.35 yesterday morning.Officers attended the address in Loraine Road, just off Holloway Road, and found the woman suffering serious injuries.First aid was administered by officers until the arrival of London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, however the woman was later pronounced dead at the scene.The victim has been identified, but next of kin are yet to be informed.A post mortem examination will be arranged in due course.A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and has been taken into custody at a north London police station.Officers on the scene told The Standard that a “major investigation was underway”, but would not reveal any further details.A firearm has been recovered and will be forensically examined.At this early stage it is believed the arrested man and the woman are known to each other.The homicide and major crime command is investigating and an incident room has opened in Hendon led by detective chief inspector Andy Chalmers.Detectives are investigating after a man was found collapsed in the road in east London shortly after a woman was murdered in the next street.Police were called to the scene in Valentines Road, Ilford, at 5.30pm yesterday and found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was taken to a nearby by hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.Shortly after 7pm officers were called to nearby Auckland Road where they found a man lying in the street.Scotland Yard said that the victims, both in their 20s, where not related but believed to be known to each other.The man died soon after arriving at the hospital, the Metropolitan police said.In a statement police said: “Both deaths are being investigated by officers from the homicide & major crime command based at Barking.“The death of the woman, who had suffered multiple stab wounds, is being treated as murder.“At this early stage, there is no evidence to suggest that the death of the man is suspicious.“Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances.”Police added that the bodies have not yet been formally identified and post-mortems are due to take place.A teenager has been stabbed to death in south London.The 18-year-old man died at the scene in Pilgrimage Street, Southwark just before 3.15pm yesterday.Early reports suggest he may have been attacked outside a nearby off licence while he was with his aunt.Paramedics worked desperately to resuscitate him on the pavement but he died about 45 minutes after they arrived.His sister arrived later and was described by onlookers as “distraught”.Press Association reporter Alex Diaz tweeted: “Officers at Pilgrimage St crime scene confirm murder investigation ongoing. Incident was outside Quality Food store.”Scotland Yard said the victim’s next of kin have not yet been informed and a post-mortem examination would be held “in due course”. Police cordoned off the street while they investigated.Southwark Council leader Peter John tweeted: “So sorry to hear of fatal stabbing on Pilgrimage Street this afternoon - knife and violent crime has no place in Southwark #SE1.”Pictures posted on Twitter showed London’s Air Ambulance landing in nearby Tabard Gardens.A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 14.26 to reports of a stabbing on Pilgrimage Street in SE1.“We sent two motorcycle responders, an ambulance crew, a duty officer and London’s Air Ambulance to the scene.“Sadly, despite extensive efforts to resuscitate the patient, a man was pronounced dead at the scene by the doctor from London’s Air Ambulance.”The homicide and major crime command, which investigates all killings in London, has been informed.No arrests have been made.
