Law-enforcement officers from the Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) have detected some 119 fake cosmetic products.
The counterfeit products were found at some shops in the Central Market.
A campaign to detect such products was carried out after a training workshop was held in co-operation with the owners and producers of world-renowned brands.
Accordingly, MEC seized the counterfeit products and would proceed with legal action against the offenders. The fine for such violations could range from QR6,000 to QR1mn.
