The ‘Big Bang’ show at Katara - the Cultural Village continues to draw a large number of people for its fascinating portrayal of how the universe started. |
Thousands of spectators gathered at the esplanade area and amphitheatre to watch the colourful and unique (three-dimensional) spectacle which is part of the Eid al-Adha festivity.
Performers have enthralled the crowd with their aerial acrobat while being flown by the balloons which represent the “planets” in the solar system.
“It was artistically performed and my son can easily relate to it because the Bing Bang theory is extensively discussed in their science subject,” said Pradeep, an Indian expatriate, who preferred to stay in Doha with his family for the Eid al-Adha holiday.
He was also anticipating the opening of the Angry Bird exhibition, soon to open at Katara.
Pradeep noted that children can learn a lot from most of the Eid shows held in many locations this year because of their educational significance.
Another spectator lauded the message of the show saying it teaches not to get tired of loving and respecting one another.
The planet earth was given emphasis in the story by the narrator saying it is “the source of life,” which was portrayed by a lady performer wearing a white dress.
“Darkness should not conquer you but light,” she said.
The sun on the other hand said she trusts the sons of the earth, which she considers as the queen of the universe, will continue to be enlightened and adhere to the goodness of their hearts.
Joel Guevarra, a father of two elementary students, said he was amazed on how the show caught the interest of both the old and the young audience.
“Combining entertainment and education has excellent results when you want to teach or send a message especially to children,” he pointed out.
