QBWA hosts ‘welcome back gathering’ for members

  QBWA officials  and members during the recently held “Members Only Welcome Back Gathering.”

The Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBWA) has hosted the “Members Only Welcome Back Gathering” in preparation for the group’s upcoming series of activities and events organised for the fourth quarter of 2014.

Aside from planning activities, the gathering also welcomed and reconnected QBWA members after coming back from the summer holidays, and included an orientation of new members on the strategies and mission of the association.

QBWA vice chairperson Aisha Alfardan congratulated the group for their efforts over the past years and welcomed new members, who were invited to network with other QBWA colleagues.

Alfardan said: “We have to recharge our energy and encourage each other after the summer break because the success of our association depends on us and that takes a lot of planning, hard work, and co-operation. We have to prove to everyone that the Qatari Businesswomen Association is able to evolve and grow and enhance its role towards women in the Qatari society year after year.”

She added that the group expects the coming months to be busy, rich, and tiring. “But we are happy and eager to start working. I am confident that you all are equally excited and I truly hope that you will utilise this opportunity to get to know each other better and to brainstorm and generate new ideas and innovative activities.”

During the meeting, members were given a questionnaire that identifies their expertise and the type of business and commercial activities they run.

The questionnaire also identifies the contributions that members can offer to the association, including areas of professional development and benefits that they expect from the QBWA.

Alfardan said they expect the fourth quarter to be “very active” as the QBWA seeks to host a series of events and workshops, including a monthly business to business meeting that would develop exchange between the members of the association.

The fifth edition of the Qatar International Businesswomen Forum will be held on December 8-9.
