Al-Shaibei with al-Abdul Ghani at the agreement signing yesterday.

International Islamic (QIIB) has signed a health insurance contract for its employees and their families with Islamic Insurance as part of the bank’s efforts at providing stable and excellent working conditions for its employees at all levels and helping them improve their performance and productivity.

The contract was signed at the headquarters of International Islamic at Grand Hamad Street by International Islamic chief executive officer Abdulbasit A al-Shaibei and Islamic Insurance chief executive officer Ali Ibrahim al-Abdul Ghani.

International Islamic deputy CEO Jamal Abdullah al-Jamal and chief of human resource and general services, Ali Al-Mesaifri along with Karim Saleh, executive director, Takaful insurance and Abdulla Fawzi Kamal, executive co-ordinator, were present.

Al-Shaibei said the bank’s relationship with Islamic Insurance was strong.

In Qatar, QCB governs both Islamic banks and insurance companies. This makes it easier for a strong partnership between Islamic banks and insurance companies. The contract signed between International Islamic and Islamic Insurance reflects this.

Al-Shaibei added: “We have chosen Islamic Insurance because of their quality of service, expertise and reputation in the market. We are confident Islamic Insurance is able to meet the expectations of its insurance policy holders.”

He said a striking feature of the contract was that all Qatari employees would be eligible for health cover outside Qatar as well, even if they already have insurance cover provided by the government.

“This is because the bank cares for its national employees and is keen to further improve their working conditions within the bank.”

He said there are strong prospects for even better co-operation between International Islamic and Islamic Insurance. “The future indeed looks promising. In future, we hope to see a lot of joint initiatives and projects.”

Al-Abdul Ghani said: “We are proud of our being chosen by a distinguished bank like the QIIB to provide health cover to its employees and their families. We thank the top management of the bank for their trust in us. This shows we have improved our insurance service to international standards. We also have a strong reputation in the industry.”

“International Islamic is a strategic partner of Islamic Insurance and we believe our common goals and values will help create better opportunities for future co-operation in such projects and even bigger initiatives for the benefit of both the parties.”
