Emir meets top Saudi officials

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani with Saudi  Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal yesterday. Prince Saud, who was on a short visit to Qatar, was accompanied by Saudi General Intelligence chief Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz and Minister of Interior Prince Mohamed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz. The Emir’s meeting with the senior Saudi officials at the Emiri Diwan “reviewed aspects of fraternal ties between the two brotherly countries and means of enhancing and developing them, in addition to discussing the path of joint GCC work”, according to the official Qatar News Agency (QNA). They also discussed a set of issues of mutual concern, notably the latest regional and international developments. Emiri Diwan chief HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani attended the meeting. The visit by the Saudi officials came ahead of a meeting of GCC foreign ministers on Saturday at which  GCC unity is expected to be high on the agenda.
