Ryobi teams up with Imalco for product distribution

Japanese power tools major Ryobi has partnered with local firm Imalco for the distribution of its power tools and associated products in Qatar.

Ryobi is a specialised professional power tools brand whose products are engineered in Japan and sold in global markets. Imalco is a leading local company engaged in the distribution of tyres, batteries and auto refinishes.

With the rapid expansion of the construction sector, in 2012, Imalco diversified and created the Industrial Business Unit (IBU) engaged in the distribution and after-sales service of power tools, workshop equipment, generators and a host of other industrial products.

The partnership was announced at a press conference attended by officials from the two companies.

Representing Imalco was its CEO, VV Aboobacker Bavu, along with VV Usman Bavu (area manager), OP Louis (operations manager) and Manjunadh (sales in-charge).

On behalf of Ryobi, corporate officer T Kayano attended the press meet along with M Amano (international sales and marketing).

The Imalco CEO said the creation of IBU was a challenge taken up for sustainable growth in the company’s journey to become a leading player in this field.

In a statement, Imalco also thanked Ryobi for having confidence in them.
