By Mizan Rahman/DhakaThree women were killed and seven people injured when a train rammed a van on Yasinpur level crossing in Bagatipara sub-district in Natore district yesterday. The victims were identified as Julekha Begum,Sundiri Begum and Sajeda Begum.It was the second such incident in the last fortnight. Eleven people including two children were killed when a train hit a bus carrying a wedding party while it was crossing the rail lines at Barobazar of Kaliganj in Jhenidah on July 31. The Rajshahi-bound ‘Barendra Express’ train from Chilahati crashed into the bus when it was passing the unmanned level crossing killing 11 people on the spot.The passengers injured in yesterday’s accident were admitted to the Sadar Hospital.The accident took place when the passengers in the van were going to Tekerpara in Bagatipara sub-district from Paikerdol village in Sadar sub-district.Over 2,500 railway level crossings across Bangladesh are still unmanned.
