The Medical Commission in Abu Hamour has been witnessing  massive rush as people are coming in large numbers to undergo health checks, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.

The rush led to disruption of traffic on the adjacent road recently and queues of service-seekers could be seen extending outside the building.

Also, the air-conditioned halls were not able to accommodate all the people who had come for medical procedures, the report states.

Referring to the problem of overcrowding, some people said special offices and halls should be allocated for the examination of housemaids as they turned up in large numbers.

Others spoke about the shortage of car parking slots and the “small” size of waiting halls at the Medical Commission, according to the report.

The problem of car parking often forces service-seekers to keep their vehicles away from the building, forcing them to walk in the heat to reach the Commission, said some residents. They suggested that the authorities should expand the building and its halls and offices and also provide more parking slots, the report states.
