Drainage project choking Al Kharaitiyat streets

Residents of Al Kharaitiyat are facing “inconvenience” due to some street closures made in the area for execution of a drainage project, local daily Arrayah has reported.

They told Arrayah that closures were carried out on a number of roads, which often made it difficult for the residents to reach or leave their houses, in addition to the problem of disturbance caused by machines used in the works, the report states.

The residents have stressed the need to keep some lanes open for smooth traffic flow on streets that are affected by the works being carried out. This can be done by opening entry and exit points so that they can reach their homes easily without having to leave their vehicles far away, according to the report.

Further, the residents complained that they were not only suffering due to the road closures, but also because of the dust caused by the works, the report further states.

The works being executed in the area comprise a key project of Ashghal, the report adds.
