Hamad International Airport (HIA) will now have bespoke state-of-the-art Flight information Display Screens (FIDS) that will feature Arabic and English information simultaneously.

Focusing on creating a simple yet informative experience for passengers, the innovatively designed FIDS has been created in-house at HIA off the back of extensive passenger research on how to create a new ecosystem of FIDS.

HIA’s advanced screens display flight details for passengers and feature three distinct concepts including; bilingual layout that displays all Arabic and English information on one screen concurrently to avoid confusion, compared to flight information displayed one language at a time.

Airline tailfin logos to provide a legible and more streamlined display; aircraft tailfin logos are visible as a unique concept for a higher standardisation of airline recognition. Guests travelling through HIA can easily distinguish their airline and flight ensuring an enhanced, seamless experience.

Typography and colour of FIDS were designed to provide maximum readability. The font and colours of the FIDS were carefully chosen for clarity from greater distances and to ensure they compliment the overall ambience of the airport.

Abdulaziz al-Mass, senior public relations and communications manager, at HIA said; “We are constantly looking for new ways to enhance our passengers experience at HIA and the development of bespoke FIDS is no exception. As a critical feature of airport communications for passengers departing, arriving or transferring, we strive to ensure our guests experience a hassle free, seamless experience through our new world-class gateway to the world.”

Passengers looking for further information on the airport, flights and airline operations can now visit www.dohahamadairport.com, or alternatively check for updates via HIA’s new social media channels including; Twitter (@HIAQatar), Facebook (Hamad International Airport) and Instagram (HIAQatar).
