Ibq, W Doha host Iftar for residents of elderly care home I
International Bank of Qatar (ibq) and W Doha Hotel & Residences have jointly organised an Iftar for Qatar Foundation for Elderly People Care (Ihsan). |
Staff members of ibq and W Doha visited Ihsan residents for Iftar as part of its annual ‘do good deeds’ campaign during the holy month of Ramadan.
Jabra Ghandour, managing director, ibq, said: “This Iftar for Ihsan residents is organised within ibq’s corporate social responsibility towards the community in Qatar. We are thankful to them all for joining us and for sharing their experiences. These senior citizens have greatly contributed to the development and well-being of our community and our future. Now, it is our duty to support and honour them, we feel really privileged for hosting this Iftar.”
Khalid Abdulla Hussein, director, public relations at Ihsan, said: “Celebrating the holy month of Ramadan with the elderly is a good deed and we encourage all members of the society to do the same and cherish these moments. By hosting a special Iftar for the residents, ibq has helped the elderly to better integrate with other members in society. We are thankful to ibq for helping to spread kindness and goodwill.”

Ihsan was founded in January 2003 on an initiative of HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser. Ihsan seeks to provide a safe and stable life for the nation’s elderly citizens and raises public awareness about the essential needs of elderly.
ibq’s “do good deeds” campaign was launched in 2009 with a series of events in which staff members volunteer for charitable purposes. Various initiatives are planned to reach out to people from all walks of the community.
