Al-Hammadi appointed as QPMC’s new CEO
Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC) has announced the appointment of Eisa al-Hammadi as the firm’s new chief executive officer.
QPMC chairman Abdulaziz al-Ansari said the company welcomes al-Hammadi and “is pleased to announce” his appointment to the helm of QPMC.
“His background in civil engineering perfectly matches QPMC’s business model and strategy. We also trust his ‘client-focused’ and ‘can-do’ mentality. His extensive management experience will help him build successfully on the strong foundations that the company has secured in recent years,” al-Ansari said.
Al-Hammadi earned his civil engineering degree from the University of Qatar and has more than 14 years of experience in the engineering sector where he held several management positions, including director of engineering projects at Qatar Development Bank.
He has also worked for the Qatar Olympic Committee and held a number of positions such as head of the project and head of the planning department until 2010. Aside from an impressive employment track record, al-Hammadi also participated in numerous internal and external courses.
“I am honoured to have the opportunity and trust given by the chairman and board of directors to lead QPMC; and I look forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead,” said al-Hammadi, whose tenure took effect in June 9.
Al-Hammadi’s appointment illustrates QPMC’s continued development and commitment to Qatarisation by guaranteeing that the company’s Board of Directors and key management positions are occupied by persons of national calibre.
The move is part of the company’s pre-set target of capitalising on human assets that will add value to Qatar’s future development.
