Msheireb Properties to showcase Downtown Doha project

Msheireb Properties, a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation, will participate at Cityscape Qatar 2014, to showcase its QR20bn Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD) project.Msheireb Properties will showcase the available retail spread across an area of 90,000 sq m and the commercial options available within the project. MDD incorporates key architectural features that deliver an unusually high level of sustainability elements, including maximising water and energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions across the site. Msheireb Properties aims to create a unique architecture for Qatar, blending the country’s rich history and culture with modern innovation and design with an objective of transforming the way people think about urban living and improve their quality of life. Msheireb Downtown Doha will have more than a 100 commercial buildings, 900 residential units, 5,200 solar panels and 40 underground electricity distribution substations. The project will accommodate over 2,500 residents, 13,000 office employees and over 60,000 visitors within a 310,000 sq m area. The construction work which commenced in 2010 is on schedule, with Phase 1A near completion. This phase includes the Amiri Diwan Quarter, the National Archive and four heritage houses to be converted into museums in addition to a mosque and Doha’s Eid prayer ground. In particular, we look forward to highlighting the salient features of our flagship project.” The three-day event is the newest addition to Cityscape’s portfolio of events. This power-networking exhibition and conference will be complemented by content-rich forums, and will serve as a platform to bring further transparency to this growing market and introduce its projects to an international audience. Cityscape Qatar is held under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani. The event will bring together 10,000 real estate professionals, including investors, developers, architects, designers, governmental authorities, from over 70 countries who will come together to explore the exhibition and conference to close profitable real estate transactions, meet with peers and discover solutions to move their businesses forward.
