Polio vaccination in Tirah valley

A picture made available yesterday shows Pakistani security officials escorting a health worker as he administered polio vaccination to children in the Tirah valley, near the Afghan border in Khyber Agency. Hundreds of families have returned to their villages in Tirah after Pakistani security forces claimed to have cleared the area from militants. The Pakistani army since April has strengthened their efforts in providing security to polio vaccinators in the country after a series of deadly attacks against those involved in campaigns against the crippling disease.
