HSBC Qatar appoints new head of commercial banking
HSBC Qatar has appointed Richard Keery as head of commercial banking.
Keery is a seasoned international banker with experience in a number of markets across Asia, the Middle East and Europe. He joined the Bank in Northern Ireland in 1997 and since has held several posts within structured asset finance, corporate banking, trade finance and risk management. Prior to coming to Qatar, Richard was head, business banking at HSBC Bank Egypt.
Commenting on the appointment, Abdul Hakeem Mostafawi, HSBC Qatar chief executive officer said, “Richard Keery is an asset to the senior management team of the bank in Qatar.”
Keery said, “Qatar offers one of the most compelling growth stories in the region. With infrastructure spend across the country reportedly expected to be over $200bn in the next five years, Qatar offers a multitude of business opportunities and exciting prospects for increased activities in the financial sector.”
