As part of its ongoing effort to support initiatives to promote Qatar’s economy, Qatar Development Bank (QDB) recently hosted a high-profile delegation from Vietnam, which visited the bank and its subsidiaries, including Qatar Business Incubation Centre (QBIC) and Bedaya Centre.
The Vietnamese delegation was led by Nguyen Van Doc, who is chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Bureau and deputy secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Bureau, Communist Party of Vietnam, and 10 other senior leaders and officials.
QDB’s executive director (strategy and business development) Hamad al-Kubaisi said such visits underscore the bank’s commitment to showcase its contribution and support of the development of Qatar’s economy through various financial and non-financial services.
Van Doc said Qatar’s robust economy is one of the fastest growing in the world. He also lauded QDB’s role in providing a range of services to support Qatar’s development, which he said “is a key to Qatar’s growth.”
During the tour, the delegation met the bank’s business departments, which focused on how the company promotes and facilitates the growth of the private sector in Qatar within key economic channels.
The delegates also listened to briefings, which included a corporate and strategy presentation, Al Dhameen, business finance, advisory, and Tasdeer.
The delegation, along with QDB members, also visited the newly-launched QBIC in the Industrial Area. They were then taken on a tour of the centre and were given a presentation on QBIC.
QBIC was founded by QDB and the Social Development Centre (SDC), a member of Qatar Foundation, as part of a wider public and government push to support and encourage Qatari entrepreneurs to build and grow businesses.
Additionally, members from Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development also gave a presentation during their visit to QBIC.
Bedaya is a joint initiative between QDB and Silatech, which provides networking opportunities and entrepreneurship advice to young, innovative youth in Qatar.
The tour falls in line with the bank’s commitment to showcase Qatar’s leading position in providing the right tools and services for the development of Qatar’s vibrant private sector.
Previously, QDB hosted delegates from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and MIT School of Management.
