The Beaches and Islands Section in the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning has said that it has cleared Al Zubara beach of the oil that had accumulated there, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.The oil, whose source remains unknown, was removed over a period of three days, the report stated.When the daily contacted the ministry of environment to ask about the possible impact of the oil deposition, officials said they did not have any information on the matter.An environment expert, meanwhile, warned of the ill-effects of such oil deposition on beaches and the risks it posed to the eco-system, marine life as well as those on the shore, the report added.
