Three new mosques opened

The Ministry of Awqaf (endowments) and Islamic Affairs has opened three new mosques that   can accommodate 2,175 worshippers.

The mosques are located in Glea, Umm Salal and Aniza areas.

Last month three mosques, with a capacity to accommodate 1,521 worshippers were opened in Aziziya, Al Khor and Lmreikh areas.

The mosque in Glea can accommodate 850 worshipers in the main hall, 180 in the daily hall and 105 in the women’s hall.

The mosque has other facilities such public car parking areas, which also takes into account the people with special needs, and a residence for the imam.

The mosque in Umm Salal area can accommodate 536 worshippers in the main hall, 177 in the mezzanine floor and 57 in the women’s hall.

The mosque includes prayer halls equipped with the latest facilities and a big ablution area, public car parking, a residence for the imam and another for the muezzin.

The third mosque located in Aniza can accommodate 270 worshippers.

It also has a residence for  the imam and another residence for the muezzin.

The mosques have been constructed to meet the increase in the population in the country.
