Deputy premier reviews Darfur peace process

HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud, is pictured with Smail Chergui, the Commissioner for Peace and Security of the African Union (AU), and Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas, the AU-UN joint chief mediator in Darfur (UNAMID), in Doha yesterday. They discussed the Darfur peace process in the light of the outcome of the 8th meeting of the committee following up the implementation of the Doha Document on Peace in Darfur, which was held recently in El Fasher town in Sudan. They also discussed the role of the AU in resolving the conflict in Darfur.
