Qatar Steel finances QRC’s disaster management camp
Qatar Steel offered a financial contribution to Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) in support of the latter’s Fifth Disaster Management Camp, which was held at the Al Khor Marine Scout Camp under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani recently. |
Qatar Steel’s contribution was part of its corporate social responsibility and in line with the support provided to community institutions in Qatar, the company said in a statement.
The camp was held under the slogan “Effective preparedness… better response” with the objective of building the disaster preparedness capacity of volunteers and the community in general.
The programme, organised by a group of QRC’s disaster management specialists, aimed at training volunteers from different nationalities. It included a series of theoretical and practical training sessions as well.
Qatar Steel was represented at the camp’s closing ceremony by HSE manager Saeed Mohamed al-Romi and PR & Communications officer Mohamed Rashid Subaih.
