Two from Qatar among GPCA award winners

Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association honoured the winners of the ‘GPCA Plastics Excellence Awards 2014’ in Sharjah recently. Of the winners, two are from Qatar. They are Dr Mariam A al-Maadeed, director, Advanced Materials Centre at Qatar University, and Al Haya Waste Management & Projects Company (Best recycling / energy saving programme). Sabic and AGM/Toyota won an award for the joint development of a product or process from a resin producer, together with plastics converter. Sabic and Riyadh Furniture Industries, and Borouge and Taghleef were the first and second runners-up in this category and were acknowledged by the jury for their outstanding efforts.
