Three Indian expatriates, hailing from the southern state of Kerala, died at Qatar’s hospitals yesterday, sources said. |
Roy Mathew Panattil (42), an engineer with the Qatar Fuel Additives Company; Babu Manshad (44), human resources manager of a local firm; and Ouseph Varghese (55), manager of Jeydan Al Shamal Trading & Contracting were the deceased.
Roy Mathew passed away at Hamad Hospital Wakra after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Siji and three children - Rosena Treesa Mathew (Class 8), Anson Roy Mathew (Class 6) and Ansena Roy Mathew (Class 3), all students at Birla Public School. A native of Kattappana in Idukki district, Mathew was in Qatar for 11 years, it is learnt.
Manshad died at Hamad General Hospital, Doha, after being admitted there for more than a month. A native of Thevalakkara, near Karunagappally in Kollam district, Manshad leaves behind his wife Manju (teacher at MES Indian School), and two children, Irfan (Class 7) and Isha (LKG) both at MES Indian School. Manshad was in Qatar for seven years. Arrangements are being made to send the body to Kerala, a relative said.
Varghese died after a brief illness at Hamad General Hospital, Doha. He leaves behind his wife, two sons and one daughter, all in his native Aymuri, near Perumbavoor in the southern Indian state. Varghese was in Qatar for more than 25 years, said one of his friends. Arrangements are being made to send the body home.
A prayer service will be held today at 4pm at the Hamad General Hospital mortuary in Doha for A D K B Charles, who passed away last Friday. The body is likely to be flown tonight to Thiruvananthapuram, en route to Nazareth in Tamil Nadu state’s Thoothukkudi, Charles’ native place.
