PICNIC: The Nepalese Newar community in Qatar recently went on a picnic to Kadin Samal Majara, Doha to celebrate Holi, the festival of colours. The picnic also featured a musical programme. The programme started with condolence messages for Shikhar Vaidya, writer and the adviser of Newar Help Society, who died recently of cancer. This was followed by a welcome speech by Radheshyam Maharjan, society president, who outlined the future plans of the group. Dr Narendra Shaya, in his speech, urged Nepalese residents in Qatar with heart problems to come to him for advice, adding that the Hamad Medical Corporation provides full medical support for heart patients.
