MoI holds seminar for private security firms

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has held a seminar for private security companies under the theme “Towards excellence in security services for the State of Qatar”.

The two-day seminar took place at the Criminal Investigation Department headquarters under the auspices of Staff Maj Gen. Saad bin Jassim al-Khulaifi, Director-General of Public Security.

The inaugural session was attended by the director of Al Rayyan Security, Col Khalifa Abdullah al-Noaimi, on behalf of the director-general, representatives of private security companies and officials from the MoI, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Justice, Institute of Administrative Development, International Centre for Safety and Security Qatar and G4S.

Col al-Noaimi said the seminar aimed to introduce the nature and importance of the work of private security service companies and understand their problems and difficulties in order to develop and standardise the work system and improve the performance of firms that provide private security services.

Capt Hussain Hamza Asad, head of the private security companies section in the Public Guards Department, said the seminar discussed five important themes. These included the work attitude of security companies, the training and its impact on developing security measures and the Mol’s role in strengthening co-operation between the security companies based on Qatar National Vision 2030.

The first session was presided over by Capt Hussain Hamza Asad. Prof Wail Farmawi, legal researcher in the Public Guards Department, presented the first paper.

The second session was presided over by Prof Hani Hamdan from Police Training Institute, while Prof Mahjub Adam of G4S presented the second paper and Ahmad Abdullah al-Harami from the Legal Affairs Department presented the third paper.
