QNA/RabatThe Qatari-Moroccan Higher Committee yesterday held its fifth meeting, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and his Moroccan counterpart, Abdelilah Benkirane. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral ties and ways to enhance them in various fields and reviewed a number of issues of mutual interest. At the end of the meeting, they signed the minutes of the meeting of the fifth session of the Qatari-Moroccan Higher Committee. The two prime ministers later witnessed the signing of a number of agreements, programmes and memoranda of understanding between the two countries. The agreements included one on joint co-operation and exchange of news between Qatar News Agency (QNA) and the Maghreb Arab Press (MAP), a second one on the executive programme of co-operation related to youth for the years from 2014 to 2016, and a third one on air transportation. Memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed on mutual recognition of diplomas according to the international convention on standards of training, on rehabilitation for sea workers, on co-operation in the field of Awqaf and Islamic affairs and on co-operation in the field of social development. An agreement on co-operation in security was also signed by the two countries. HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser attended a dinner banquet hosted in his honour and his accompanying delegation by King Mohamed VI at the Souissi Royal Guest House.The banquet was also attended by Premier Benkirane and a number of Moroccan ministers and senior officials. Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser left Rabat for Marrakesh in the afternoon to participate in the 31st session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers. He was accompanied by Morocco’s Interior Minister Mohamed Hassad. The Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation were greeted upon arrival in Marrakesh by Governor (Wali) Adeslam Bikrat. The Qatari Premier is on a three-day official visit to Morocco.
