At least seven people were killed and more than half a dozen seriously injured when a jeep ran 100m off the road in Nepal, police officials said yesterday.
The accident occurred in the Dang district, a far-western district of Nepal, on Monday midnight. The jeep plunged 100m down the road, Xinhua reported.
Those seriously injured have been admitted to Nepalgunj Medical College and Hospital. Preliminary investigation has indicated that the jeep was speeding along the road.
“We are investigating the reasons behind the accident and injured people have been admitted to hospital,” police official Milan Shrestha, who reached the accident site, told the media.
